Liverpool fans told to be wary over suggestions they could be about to sign £65m attacker - journalist

Liverpool have been linked with plenty of players ahead of the January window, but some stories might not be as concrete as many believe.

The Reds have not had the best start to the season by any stretch of the imagination, with one of the only ways it can be solved being by dipping into the market.

There are many names being thrown around, but a lot of them come with stiff competition, especially in attack.

In fact, there is one player in particular who seemed pretty nailed-on to join Liverpool mid-season, although this might not actually be the case.

Antoine Semenyo to Liverpool is ‘just noise’

Antoine Semenyo is a player who looks certain to leave Bournemouth, it is just whether that is in January or in the summer.

Liverpool have been heavily linked, but so too have Man United and Man City, although the Reds looked to be the favourites.

However, according to journalist David Lynch, this might not actually be the case, with there being suggestions that Bournemouth are just using the Reds to increase the noise around their star man.

“The way it’s being put to me from speaking to people is that they say, you know, it’s very much Bournemouth driving up the noise,” he said on Anfield Index.

“And you can understand why that would be. And I’m also like I have personal questions from just analysing him as a player over whether he would work for Liverpool.

“And so just putting those two together, I’m just a little bit like is this not just noise?

“Maybe I’ll get surprised because no one can completely concretely knock this one down to said there’s absolutely no chance. So, we’re not we’re not in that situation, but I’ve just I would just be surprised.”

Antoine Semenyo must choose Liverpool

If all the clubs ‘interested’ genuinely want him, Semenyo simply has to go to Liverpool over anyone else.

Liverpool should have the edge over Man United, especially as they already reinforced their wide areas of the summer, while Man City cannot guarantee him game time.

As for the Reds, he would get regular minutes and be one of the stars to lead the team forward, with his style of play also being perfect.

Liverpool lack a player with his pace and power, so his directness would be welcomed with open arms, suggesting that he must go to Anfield if he gets the chance.
