Knicks Make Final Call on Karl-Anthony Towns' Status vs Pacers

The New York Knicks' injury report included a handful of key names on Thursday, including the All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns.

As the star front-court player is dealing with knee soreness on his left side, the Knicks listed Towns as questionable to face their Eastern Conference foes.

The veteran is expected to be ruled out for the matchup, according to Stefan Bondy. He will miss the game, along with Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson.

Towns is no stranger to the Knicks' injury report this season, but he has rarely missed action.

Heading into Thursday's game, Towns has just one absence for the year. He missed a recent outing against the Orlando Magic, which took place at Madison Square Garden on December 7.

Despite the absence of Towns, the Knicks managed to take care of business against Orlando, picking up a 106-100 win. Towns would return to the court for the following game against the Toronto Raptors.

Over the next two regular-season games, Towns and the Knicks took care of business with two wins, extending their streak to five games in a row. The Knicks then joined the NBA Cup knockout rounds, where they found success.

The Knicks started with a big win over the Toronto Raptors in the quarterfinal round. After that 117-101 victory over Toronto, the Knicks took on the Magic, who defeated the Miami Heat.

Once again, Towns and the Knicks put together a convincing victory by taking down the top-seeded Magic with a 132-120 win, advancing to the championship.

The Knicks took care of business against the San Antonio Spurs, collecting a 124-113 win. In his latest outing, Towns appeared on the court in 30 minutes.

During his Cup championship shift, Towns went 6-12 from the field, scoring 16 points. He collected the double-double with 11 rebounds and also snatched two steals on the defensive end.

For his second full season with the Knicks, Towns has once again been a key contributor. In his first 24 games of the season, he is shooting 47 percent from the field and 36 percent from three.

The veteran has posted averages of 22.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and nearly one block per game.

The Knicks are 18-7 heading into Thursday's action against the Pacers. They trail the Detroit Pistons, who lead the Eastern Conference with a 21-5 record.

New York and Indiana will tip off at 7 PM ET on Thursday.
