On Saturday, December 20, in the 12:30 kick-off, it’s Newcastle vs Chelsea. The West London club, after some disappointing results, have returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Everton and a 3-1 win against Cardiff in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea have not enjoyed great success at St James’ Park, winning just three of their last 13 visits. Enzo Maresca’s men currently sit fourth in the table, but are only six points ahead of The Geordies in 12th. Chelsea’s former captain, John Terry, has previewed the match via his personal TikTok account.

Terry Previews Chelsea vs Newcastle
Looking ahead to Newcastle vs Chelsea, Terry said:
“Newcastle away at the weekend against a very good and a very well-organised Newcastle side under Eddie Howe. A team that’s very good defensively, very physical. A team that you look across in the tunnel and know that they’re certainly up for it, and they’re a physical team from set plays as well.

“So we need to make sure that we’re on our game in terms of defensive set plays as well. I think that Newcastle have one of the best and most physical midfields in the Premier League. And also plenty of pace on either wing in Anthony Gordon. Harvey Barnes can come on and make an impact as well.
“Elanga, the other side as well, who shows real pace and a real threat, also. On top of all this, it’s an early kick-off. The Newcastle supporters are great. They’re always up for it. They’re gonna be right behind their team right from the kick off. So, whoever’s captain, flip ’em round, make ’em kick towards the Gallowgate End in the first half.
The Infamous Slope at St James’ Park
“For those of you who don’t know, there’s a slope. Well, there’s a big slope at St. James’ Park, especially when you’re playing. So, make ‘em kick towards the Gallowgate End in the first half as well. But obviously, we’re coming off the back of a win against Cardiff, where players have had loads of time to rest in the week. So I’m expecting a few changes in the side from the manager, and hopefully we can get back to winning ways in the Premier League as well.
“I know the Chelsea fans are travelling in their thousands, so safe travels. Get right behind the boys,” said Terry, signing off from the video.
It looks set to be a tough game for Chelsea. Can they get anything from this notoriously tough game?
