UEFA Women’s Champions League

Chelsea travelled to Germany to beat Wolfsburg 2-1. Wolfsburg scored first through Alexandra Popp, before Lucy Bronze equalised before half-time. A brilliant header from Sam Kerr in the second half proved to be the winner, and helped vanquish the Blues’ long-time demons against Wolfsburg in continental competition. Kerr and Ellie Carpenter both started for Chelsea.

AS Roma defeated St Pölten 6-1 to secure their first win of the UWCL. It wasn’t enough to lift them into the playoffs, but they’ll be delighted to walk away with at least one win. Evelyne Viens scored a hat-trick in the comprehensive victory. Winonah Heatley was an unused substitute for Roma.

Arsenal defeated OH Leuven 3-0 to secure a playoff against the same opponents in February. Olivia Smith and Beth Mead scored in the first half before Caitlin Foord forced an own goal in the second. Steph Catley and Kyra Cooney-Cross both started for the Gunners, while Foord was a second-half substitute.

Lyon defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 as they breezed through the group stage into the knockouts. Two goals in two minutes after half-time helped seal the result. Teagan Micah was an unused substitute for Lyon.

England

The Women's League Cup quarter-finals take place this weekend. All games take place simultaneously on Monday, 12am AEDT.

Defending champions Chelsea take on Liverpool. Chelsea will be heavy favourites to advance to the semi-finals but in Cup football, anything can happen, something that the Blues will be keenly aware of. Sam Kerr and Ellie Carpenter will be available for Chelsea.

Similarly, last year's finalists Manchester City will expect to ease past West Ham - but with the Hammers showing glimpses of good form of late, they'll back themselves to cause an upset. Mary Fowler remains unavailable for City, but Katrina Gorry is expected to line up in midfield for West Ham.

Tottenham travel to take on Manchester United in a rematch of their most recent league fixture. Spurs will be kicking themselves that they couldn't hold onto a three-goal advantage - and will be hoping to go one better this time around. Clare Hunt will be available for Tottenham while Charli Grant remains unavailable through injury.

Finally, Arsenal take on second-tier Crystal Palace. It's a big occasion for Palace, who will hope to do something truly special against the reigning European champions. Caitlin Foord, Kyra Cooney-Cross and Steph Catley will all be available for Arsenal.

Germany

After drawing 2-2 with Union Berlin midweek – a game in which Hayley Raso was an unused substitute – Eintracht Frankfurt take on SGS Essen on Saturday, 4.30am AEDT. Frankfurt find themselves slipping away from the top three and would love a big three points before the winter break to help lift them as high as fourth. Raso will be available once more for Frankfurt.

TSG Hoffenheim host Carl Zeiss Jena on Saturday, 10pm AEDT. A win against bottom-place Jena could see them head into the break only one point away from European qualification places. Jamilla Rankin will be available for Hoffenheim.

France

Lyon takes on Fleury on Sunday, 7am AEDT. A victory – as expected – would mean that they have won all eleven of their league games before the winter break. Teagan Micah will be available for Lyon.

United States

DC Power travel to take on Carolina Ascent in the USL on Sunday, 6am AEDT. It is their last fixture until early February, when the league starts again. A win could take them from eighth to as high as fifth. Morgan Aquino will be available for DC.
