VanVleet revealed that there is a possibility he'll be back for Houston by March as he continues his ACL surgery recovery.
There is a significant possibility that Fred VanVleet will be back and playing for the Houston Rockets this season.

In his appearance on the Unguarded podcast with Rockets teammate Kevin Durant, the star point guard revealed that he might return by March after his surgeon gave him a six-month timeline for his ACL recovery.
VanVleet underwent successful surgery back in September to repair a torn ACL in his right knee. He suffered the injury during a team workout in the Bahamas shortly before the start of training camp.
VanVleet's injury served as a huge blow for the Rockets, knowing that the franchise is aiming for a major title run after acquiring Durant in a blockbuster trade this past offseason.
Despite losing their starting point guard, the Rockets are currently playing sensational basketball. Houston is in fifth spot of the Western Conference with a 16-7 record.
Should the Rockets' impressive performance and standing continue, there is no doubt that VanVleet will be more determined to push for a return and reject a full-season absence for the Rockets.
VanVleet, who averaged 14.1 points and 5.6 assists last 2024-25, notably inked a two-year, $50 million contract extension with the Rockets last June.
