Curry and wife announced their nonprofit will give 68,000 books to 17,000 Bay Area kids.

“This is the heart of Christmas with the Currys: joy, community, and the power of reading.”

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are not in a good place at the moment. They are currently 13-14 on the season and are coming off back-to-back losses.

Curry recently returned from a five-game absence due to a quad injury, but not even his return has been enough to lift the Warriors. The former back-to-back MVP returned on Friday, erupting for 39 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He followed that up with a 48-point outburst against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. Despite Curry’s strong play, the Warriors still ended up losing both games.

Off the court, one of Curry’s endeavors is his Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, which he established in 2019 with his wife, Ayesha Curry. On Thursday, the couple shared some news about the nonprofit’s holiday activities.

Curry helped make the foundation’s latest announcement about the 13th annual Christmas with the Currys drive. This year, they plan to extend help to 17,000 underprivileged kids in the Bay Area.

“All month long, we’re bringing holiday book fairs to 47 Oakland elementary schools, giving 17,000 students the chance to choose brand-new books to take home. More than 68,000 books in total! This is the heart of Christmas with the Currys: joy, community, and the power of reading,” the foundation’s post read.

Steph and Ayesha Curry have been very active with the initiatives of their foundation, which, according to their website, aims to “support children’s well-being through access to nutritious meals, quality reading resources and opportunities to play and be active—because everyone deserves the chance to live a happy, healthy childhood.”

As for his basketball, Curry will want to lead the Warriors out of their recent slump. Their next chance to do so is on Thursday in a road game against the 14-12 Phoenix Suns. Tipoff from Mortgage Matchup Center is scheduled at 9:00 p.m. ET.
