Head coach Jason Kidd offered an interesting response about Flagg's recent comments about wanting the Mavericks to be the only franchise in his NBA career.
Cooper Flagg captured the attention of everyone as he recently offered his full commitment to the Mavericks and the entire Dallas community, hoping that the franchise will be the first and only team he'll play for in his NBA career.

In Jason Kidd's point of view, he is simply compelled to fulfill the wish of the reigning No. 1 overall pick on behalf of the Mavericks organization.
“I think it’s great," a smiling Kidd said about Flagg's viral comments after the team's 116-114 overtime win over the Detroit Pistons. "He’ll be 19 here in a couple days, and we’re very fortunate to have him and we’ll treasure him at 18 and 19 all the way until he’s 55, cause that’s when he’ll probably retire at the age of 55.”
After enduring the stunning and controversial trade loss of beloved superstar Luka Doncic from last season, the Mavericks found a new life upon the arrival of Flagg.
Flagg has been a heaven-sent for the grieving Mavericks fans, as the teenage phenom continues to live up to the hype and provide them renewed hope.
After a rough start in his rookie year, Flagg is now finding his groove. He is currently averaging 18.4 points, 6.3 boards and 3.5 assists.
He recently made history by becoming the youngest player in NBA history to drop 40 or more points in a single game, surpassing the longstanding mark set by a 19-year-old LeBron James in 2004.
After the team's failure to remain loyal to Doncic, Mavericks fans can only hope that things will be different now with Flagg leading their future.
