arsenal fcArsenal goalkeeper David Raya has been given a pay rise.
Although the news has not been announced officially, it was agreed internally several months ago, and was intended to reward him for his consistently good performances.
He was previously earning ₤100,000 a week, but that has now been increased, without however extending his contract.
That expires in 2028.
It is a similar arrangement to that reached with Leondro Trossard, with the Belgian forward also earning himself a pay rise, but without committing to the club beyond the length of his original deal.
When Raya was originally signed from Brentford on loan and began to compete with the popular Aaron Ramsdale, there were many Arsenal supporters who questioned the decision.
Few of those doubters remain as Raya is now regarded as one of the top keepers in Europe, and integral member of Mikel Arteta’s squad.
