Remember these five classic wins at Everton?

We head to Everton on Saturday and a first-ever visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where we'll hope to enjoy a winning start at the ground that replaced Goodison Park this summer.

We had some memorable encounters at the famous old venue down the years, creating special memories for Gooners who have enjoyed some fine wins on the blue half of Merseyside.

We’ve delved into the archive to pick out five of the best during the Premier League era:

**March 13, 1999**

**Everton 0-2 Arsenal**

We stayed on course for a fabled Double Double thanks to this win, which kept us within touching distance of Manchester United at the top of the table. A wonderful 50-yard pass from Marc Overmars allowed Ray Parlour to blast us in front, before Don Hutchinson was sent off just 18 minutes in for elbowing Martin Keown.

However, we too would find ourselves down to 10 men in the second half when Emmanuel Petit was dismissed for a second bookable offence on Olivier Dacourt, but Parlour proved to be the difference again on 69 minutes when he was chopped down by David Unsworth in the box, allowing Dennis Bergkamp to secure the points from the penalty spot.

**August 15, 2004**

**Everton 1-4 Arsenal**

Our Invincibles continued their dominance into the 2004/05 campaign with this convincing win at Goodison, as Bergkamp once again got on the scoresheet when he arrowed in after 23 minutes, before Jose Antonio Reyes added a header before half-time.

Thierry Henry’s cross was then turned home by Freddie Ljungberg to virtually wrap up the points with 36 minutes remaining, and despite Lee Carsley pulling one back, Robert Pires would restore the three-goal cushion to ensure we equalled Nottingham Forest's 41-game unbeaten record.

**December 29, 2007**

**Everton 1-4 Arsenal**

Eduardo netted his first Premier League goals for the club to help us move to the top of the table, despite having to come from behind to beat the Toffees. Tim Cahill nudged the home side ahead after a Mikel Arteta corner caused problems, but after the break the Croatian international was picked out by a fine Gael Clichy pass and finished well.

He doubled his tally just before the hour mark when he shrugged off Phil Jagielka to finish, but the result was put in jeopardy when Nicklas Bendtner was sent off for two yellows. However Emmanuel Adebayor pounced on some hesitancy in the home defence to make it 3-1, and after Arteta was dismissed himself late on, Tomas Rosicky added a fourth.

**August 15, 2009**

**Everton 1-6 Arsenal**

In 2009 we would once again start the season with a trip to the Toffees, and recorded our biggest opening day win in our history in the process. Denilson got the rout started with a vicious first-time strike from range that found the top corner before Thomas Vermaelen marked his debut by heading past Tim Howard.

William Gallas repeated the trick to put us in firm control before the break, and then Cesc Fabregas added a pair of strikes before Eduardo, on his return from injury, added a sixth two minutes from time. Louis Saha’s injury-time strike was a mere consolation on a wonderful afternoon for Arsene Wenger’s team.

**October 22, 2017**

**Everton 2-5 Everton**

When Wayne Rooney proved to be a thorn in our side yet again by handing Everton an early lead, it looked as though this could be a tough day on Merseyside but we came roaring back. Nacho Monreal tucked home a rebound from a Jordan Pickford save, and when Mesut Ozil headed us in front on 53 minutes, we never looked back.

Idrissa Gueye’s red card made things easier, and Alexandre Lacazette finished off a sweeping move to put the game to bed. In an action-packed finale, Aaron Ramsey and Oumar Niasse traded goals, before Alexis Sanchez danced his way around the edge of the box before firing into the bottom corner to round off the scoring.
