Arne Slot has provided the latest on four injuries for Liverpool, with “promising” news on Cody Gakpo and updates on Joe Gomez, Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong.
The Reds will head to Tottenham on Saturday without Gakpo and Gomez, but Frimpong will return to the squad after a 12-game absence.
A late call could be made on Szoboszlai’s inclusion, too, with the midfielder rejoining training after an ankle problem picked up against Brighton last weekend.
Speaking to reporters at the AXA Training Centre on Friday, Slot provided the latest on Liverpool’s injury situation.
Gakpo scan boost and late call for Szoboszlai
“[Cody] had a scan that looked promising, so that means we’re not that worried anymore as we were maybe one or two weeks ago,” he explained.
“He might come back a bit earlier than expected, but that’s definitely not tomorrow or next week. Joe is not in the squad as well.
“Dominik trained yesterday, parts of training, for the first time, so let’s see where he is today and how he is tomorrow.
“Jeremie is in the squad again as well.”

Also returning to availability is Conor Bradley, who missed the 2-0 win over Brighton after incurring a one-match suspension for five bookings.
He is expected to start at right-back with Frimpong on the bench, while Szoboszlai’s fitness could prompt at least one change in midfield.
Slot saw both Hugo Ekitike and Milos Kerkez suffer cramp in the latter stages of last weekend’s victory at Anfield but neither are considered doubts for the trip to Tottenham.
Liverpool will however be without Mohamed Salah, who has joined the Egypt squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Wataru Endo is also out with an ankle injury.

Questioned further on Szoboszlai’s availability for the trip to north London and whether he would consider him to start, Slot said: “That completely depends how he does today.
“So if he can fulfil the whole training session, and then you speak to the player and to the medical staff, if the player feels comfortable to play and he did all the things he had to do, then he will start.
“If he can’t fulfil the whole session, or he doesn’t feel comfortable, we will have a discussion.
“But Dom has been a starter for me and he would be a starter tomorrow if he’s completely fit.”
