Dominik Szoboszlai looks to have avoided a serious injury for Liverpool
Arne Slot has provided injury updates for several Liverpool stars ahead of their journey to Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday evening. The Reds' head coach has been grappling with a string of fitness issues all season long.
He has faced yet another injury worry as doubts emerged over the fitness of star midfielder following last weekend's win over Brighton. The Hungarian international has been one of 's shining lights during a challenging period for the club.
The Reds encounter with Tottenham will also be their first game without available for selection. The 33-year-old has broke off for international duty with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations and isn't expected back until January 2026.

A victory this weekend could propel Liverpool into the Premier League's top four if other results also fall in their favour. After languishing in the lower half of the table for part of the season, such an outcome would be a welcome lift for Slot and the Anfield supporters this Christmas.

There were significant fears within the Liverpool camp after Dominik Szoboszlai was forced off against Brighton with an apparent ankle injury. At the time, Slot admitted "it didn't look great," but after a week of rest, it appears the 25-year-old could be available for the Spurs game - though his inclusion is not yet guaranteed. "Szoboszlai trained yesterday, parts, so let's see how he is today," the head coach said on Friday morning. "It depends how he does today. He can fill the whole session and you speak to the player and staff and feels comfortable then he will start. If not, he doesn't feel comfortable then he won't. He will start if he is totally fit." Cody Gakpo has missed matches against Inter Milan and Brighton due to a muscle injury after a bright start to the campaign. Having recorded seven goal contributions in the Premier League so far, he has been a mainstay in the starting lineup. Fortunately for Liverpool, his injury does not appear to be as severe as first feared as Slot left the door open for a return in early January 2026.
