Newcastle United will face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final over two legs in 2026.
The Magpies progressed to the final four of the Carabao Cup following a 2-1 win over Fulham at St James’ Park on Wednesday night.
Eddie Howe’s side are looking to retain the cup after ending a 70-year trophy drought back in March with a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.
Newcastle beat Arsenal 4-0 over two legs in the semi-final of the competition last season and will be looking to make it past another tough opponent this time around in Manchester City.
Newcastle will host Man City at St James’ Park for the first leg on January 13 before a second leg trip to the Etihad Stadium on February 4.
Eddie Howe beat Manchester City for the first time in the Premier League last month, with a Harvey Barnes brace securing a 2-1 win over Pep Guardiola’s side at St James’ Park.
Newcastle’s only ever win at the Etihad Stadium came in the League Cup back in 2014 as Rolando Aarons and Moussa Sissoko scored in a shock 2-0 win.
The winners of the semi-final between Newcastle and City will face either Chelsea, Arsenal or Crystal Palace in the final. Chelsea progressed with a 3-1 win over Cardiff City in the quarter-final while Arsenal and Palace face each other on Tuesday evening.
