The dates have been been announced for the Newcastle United Carabao Cup semi-final matches against Manchester City.
The two teams playing each other home and away for a place at Wembley.
Newcastle United announcing that the first leg at St. James’ Park will be played on Tuesday 13 January with an 8pm kick-off.
That game at St James’ Park will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and ITV.
Then Wednesday 4 February will see Manchester City host Newcastle United at the Etihad in the second leg.
The official announcement stating that; ‘Should Arsenal beat Crystal Palace in their quarter-final next week, Eddie Howe’s side will kick-off against City at 8pm GMT – but if Palace prevail and beat the Gunners, Eddie Howe’s side will get under way at 8:15pm GMT. That decisive encounter will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.’
The upcoming match schedule after Saturday’s match against Chelsea, sees Eddie Howe’s side facing Man U (A) 26 December, Burnley (A) 30 December, Palace (H) 4 January, Leeds (H) 7 January, Bournemouth (H) in the FA Cup 10 January, Man City (H) in the Carabao Cup 13 January, Wolves (A) 18 January, PSV (H) in Champions League 21 January, Villa (H) 25 January, Liverpool (H) 31 January, Man City (A) 4 February.
Newcastle United are in their third semi-final in the competition in the space of four years.
Last season they defeated the likes of Chelsea, Forest, Brentford, Arsenal (twice!) and Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup.
This time it will be the likes of Spurs, Fulham, Man City and then one of Arsenal, Chelsea or Palace, if Eddie Howe and his team are to retain the trophy.
