Club enter battle for Chelsea outcast‘in the last few hours’–Very concrete idea for DoF

Roma have entered the race for Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi ‘in the last few hours’ as they plan a big January transfer window.

That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb. They report that Roma director of football Frederic Massara as added the Chelsea defender to his list.

The website reports that Disasi is set to be one of the key figures of the next transfer window. He is not a part of Chelsea’s plans and is barely in the picture under Enzo Maresca.

He wanted to leave in te summer transfer window and return to Monaco, rejecting several Premier League offers to do so. However, a return to the Principality club did not materialise and he’s been stuck at Stamford Bridge since.

Disasi is seeking a departure in the January transfer window but is unlikely to find anything but a loan given he cost Chelsea €45m two and a half years ago.

AC Milan have shown concrete interest, but Roma have joined the race ‘in the last few hours’. In fact, they’ve been making ‘insistent advances’ towards Chelsea.

They’re looking for a low-cost centre-back to bolster Gian Piero Gasperini’s options. Disasi is seen as one and is now considered a ‘very concrete idea’ for their sporting director Massara.

The question is whether Chelsea will sanction a low-cost move. They let Disasi join Aston Villa on loan last January, hoping to sell him at the end of the season. It’s likely they’ll want to do a similar deal with Roma if another loan is to be sanctioned.
