After the game against the Orlando Magic, where Jokic recorded a triple-double of 23 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds in a 126-115 win, he joked about the milestone in his signature understated style.
"I always say those things are something for after career. I’m gonna look back, on the porch, drinking beer and telling lies to my kids," Jokic said, shrugging off the record as just another number.
His comment captured the humor and humility that have made him a fan favorite, showing that even historic achievements don’t change his laid-back approach to basketball.
The assist that secured the record came when Jokic found Jalen Pickett with about six minutes left in the second quarter.
Jokic has consistently redefined what it means to be a center, blending scoring, rebounding, and elite passing.
This season, in 26 games played, Jokic averages 29.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, 10.9 assists, 1.4 steals per game while shooting 61.2% from the field and 42.6% from three.
