Thomas Frank issues injury update on Solanke, Udogie and others ahead of Tottenham vs. Liverpool

Thomas Frank has provided the latest fitness update ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League home game against Liverpool.

Thomas Frank will be seeking a strong response from Tottenham Hotspur when they welcome Liverpool to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.

Guglielmo Vicario and Archie Gray endured poor outings, and several players failed to turn up last Sunday, as Spurs were beaten 3-0 by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The result left them 11th in the table and piled more misery on Thomas Frank.

The Danish tactician is under huge sack pressure at White Hart Lane as a result of the embarrassing defeat to Nottingham Forest, with the majority of the supporters quickly turning on him. And the last thing Thomas Frank would have wanted is to face a Liverpool team finally getting back into the groove after a disappointing November.

Thomas Frank drops latest Tottenham fitness update ahead of Liverpool game

Thomas Frank has now provided an injury update on his Tottenham side ahead of their encounter with Liverpool. He is set to be without several senior players again, with Dominic Solanke, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski all sidelined.

Destiny Udogie is ruled out until the New Year, while central defenders Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai are continuing to work their way back to full fitness after several months on the sidelines. Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are unavailable, having been called up to their respective national teams for the AFCON starting from December 21.

“Everyone is doing fine. Last game, same players available. Nobody new is available,” Frank said in his pre-match press conference (h/t Football London).

Tottenham have a great opportunity to beat Liverpool

Like Tottenham, Liverpool will also be without some key players, including Mohamed Salah, who has teamed up with Egypt for the upcoming AFCON.

Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to shake off his ankle knock suffered during the 2-0 win over Brighton last weekend, but facing a Liverpool side without Salah, Alexander Isak not hitting the ground running after his big-money summer switch from Newcastle United and their defence extremely shaky, could provide the platform for Spurs to rediscover their winning mojo. Since beating Manchester City 2-0 away back in August, Frank is yet to get a statement victory in his short tenure at Tottenham.

Even if the odds are heavily stacked against Spurs, facing this Liverpool side gives Frank a great chance to make a statement win and get the fans back on his side.
