FC Barcelona Top Striker Extends Until 2029

Star striker Claudia Pina has extended her contract with FC Barcelona until 2029. In previous seasons, Pina often had to watch from the bench or accept a role as a substitute. However, in recent campaigns she has earned her place in the starting XI, becoming a key member of the team under Pere Romeu.

Pina scored 24 goals last season, ten of which came in the [Women’s Champions League](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-champions-league/), finishing the campaign as the competition’s top scorer. Overall, Claudia Pina has made 191 appearances for FC Barcelona, scoring 86 goals and registering 49 assists. During her time with the Spanish giants, she has won 23 trophies, including three UWCL titles, six domestic league titles, and five Copa de la Reina trophies.

The knockout stages of the Women’s Champions League will resume in February 2026. Having finished top of their group, FC Barcelona secured direct qualification to the knockout rounds, while other teams still have one final group-stage match to determine their fate.

Barcelona’s opponent in the next round will either be Paris FC or Real Madrid, meaning a potential Clásico clash. If the Spanish side progress from the quarter-finals, they will face either Bayern Munich, Atlético Madrid, or Manchester United in the semi-finals. The final will be held in Oslo at Ullevaal Stadium on May 23.

The club recently provided an update on Aitana Bonmatí and Kika Nazareth. Bonmatí suffered a fibula fracture and has undergone surgery, with the captain expected to be sidelined for a significant period. She has featured in 15 matches this season, scoring six goals and providing three assists.

Kika will also be out for the foreseeable future after spraining a ligament in her left ankle. She has made 13 appearances so far this season, scoring five goals and registering six assists.
