Reserve Nickeil Alexander-Walker did his part, scoring 28 points with eight rebounds off the bench. Star point guard Trae Young played just 20 minutes, but did score eight points with 10 assists in his limited time.
The Spurs will be happy to have Victor Wembanyama back, although he continues to come off the bench to gradually increase his minutes. In their last game, the Spurs ran through the Washington Wizards 119-94 in a game that was close at halftime, with the Spurs leading by just four. The second half broke things open, as San Antonio outscored the Wizards 62-41, led by Wembanyama's 13 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks in the half. Julian Champagnie added 12, and Dylan Harper scored 11, as the bench led the Spurs on the big second-half surge.
