All the confirmed injury news for Arsenal’s away clash with Everton in the Premier League.
Arsenal return to action on Saturday when they face Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, hoping to protect top spot going into Christmas day. The Gunners currently have a lead of two points over Manchester City after beating Wolves last weekend, and this is their last league game before Christmas, with a Carabao Cup date with Crystal Palace during the week to come.
Everton lost to Chelsea last weekend and will be hoping to pick up a point or three here to resume their European qualification bid. Here we round up all the confirmed injury news surrounding both teams following Friday’s managerial press conferences.
Jack Grealish - Fit
Grealish has been passed fit. Moyes has said: "Jack's okay. He'll be fit and available for the game."
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - Out
Moyes has confirmed: "Kiernan's doing well. But not available for the game. He'll be a big miss for us, but that's what happens this time of year. Every club has got injuries or suspensions."
Jarrad Branthwaite - Out
Branthwaite won’t return from his hamstring issue until the end of January, at the earliest. Moyes said ahead of this one: "Jarrad and Merlin are back on the grass and doing some work. Merlin is obviously much further on than Jarrad but they're both back on the grass and hopefully we're starting to see a chance to get them back soon. It would be a big help."
Merlin Rohl - Doubt
Rohl has been upgraded from out to a doubt. Moyes has said: "Merlin Röhl is back. He's been training and hopefully he'll be back and available for the game."
Seamus Coleman - Out
Coleman is going to miss some time with a fresh hamstring issue. Moyes said last week: “Seamus pulled his hamstring, so he is going to be out for a little while. I don't know exactly the timescale on it.”
Idrissa Gana Gueye AND Iliman Baroy Ndiaye - Out (AFCON)
Both players are now away for the African Cup of Nations.
Max Dowman - Out
Dowman is going to miss some time, with Arteta confirming: “Yes, so first of all, unfortunately, Max [Dowman] picked up an injury last weekend and had to come off. So he did some scans and he is going to be out for weeks.”
Kai Havertz - Out
Havertz is getting closer, but he won’t be back until at least the end of the month. Arteta said last week: “Matter of weeks. Let's see how it evolves... He's doing really well, he's doing stuff on the pitch, but I think he needs some time. He was doing everything; he could not go to the next level. We are all desperate to have him.”
Gabriel Magalhaes - Out
Arteta has said in a fresh update: “He’s pushing hard, as he always does every time he’s out, and he’s evolving really well. He’s doing pitch sessions, so he’s not too far. We have to see in the next stages of that rehab, how he progresses, but we are quite positive about it.” The Gunners will be desperate to get Gabriel back given their other defensive injury issues.
Cristhian Mosquera - Out
Arteta confirmed after the Villa game: “He's going to be out for weeks unfortunately, it's much more than what we expected. But the player was feeling it, so he's going to be out for weeks.”
Ben White - Out
Arteta has now confirmed: “Yeah, he’s out. He’s evolving well, it’s not a major injury, but it will keep him out for a few games, I think. I don’t think it’s going to be [a major injury] and Ben is a really fast healer as well, so there’s hope that we’re going to have him in the next few games.”
