Former Chelsea player Scott Minto has delivered his honest assessment on Blues boss Enzo Maresca amid speculation over his future.
Maresca is now in his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge, having qualified for the Champions League, and won both the Conference League and Club World Cup in his debut campaign.
However, Chelsea have endured a mixed start to the season, and sit fourth, whist Maresca is believed to have an internal issue at the club.
Scott Minto delivers honest assessment on Enzo Maresca
The expectation this season is once again believed to be securing Champions League football, whilst going as deep as possible in the cup competitions.
Maresca guided Chelsea to the Carabao Cup semi finals on Tuesday night, his third semi final in 18 months at the club.

However, there’s been speculation about Maresca and his future following his comments after the win against Everton, and he’s subsequently been linked to the Manchester City job.
Maresca came out and stated he would be Chelsea manager next season, although he still divides some of the fan base.
Former Blue Minto has now had his say and believes Chelsea can challenge under the 45-year-old if he’s given some more senior players.
“I see a talented coach who, given the right tools, can actually take Chelsea, or at least challenge at the very, very top,” he said as quoted on X.com.
“We’ve talked about how he’s learning himself. He’s still in this third full season as a manager.
“But I genuinely think he just needs a couple of senior pros.”
Chelsea face tough Newcastle trip
Maresca’s comments should put a temporary end to speculation over his future, and all focus is now on a tough game against Newcastle.
