If you ask a Gooner which month feels like Arsenal’s best, you might get a dozen different answers. Some will say it is September because summer turns to football; March when the earth spring to life; or December for the chaotic rhythm of the season. But numbers have their own kind of poetry, and Arsenal’s history whispers loudest in March.
Let’s peel back the calendar. Across the Arsène Wenger era, that era of silky football, Invincibles, and heart-thumping nostalgia, March stands tallest. Arsenal have played 60 Premier League matches in March once Wenger arrived, winning 42 of them and averaging 2.27 points per game, more than any other month. That’s not coincidence; that’s consistent excellence when the season thins and the contenders separate from the pretenders.
