Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis is dealing with an illness and said he threw up twice during the last game against the Detroit Pistons. He's listed probable for the upcoming game vs. 76ers.
Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis put on a great performance in a win last time out against the Detroit Pistons, despite being in difficult physical condition.
The Mavericks big man was dealing with both an illness and a bruised left calf, yet still logged heavy minutes and made a significant impact after recently missing a game due to the injury.
Davis finished with 15 points, 18 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 37 minutes of play, helping the Mavs secure a 116-114 overtime win on Thursday.
After the game, Davis said he still feels under the weather but tried to do everything he could to help his team win despite the difficulties.
“Still feel under the weather,” Davis said. “I actually threw up twice during the game, but I’m just trying to compete. I’m just trying to do whatever I can to help the team win. Just leaving it all on the floor.”
Now the Mavs are set to travel to Philadelphia to face the 76ers on Saturday. Davis is listed as probable for the upcoming game despite his illness.
Davis has appeared in 12 games this season, averaging 19.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks are sitting 11th in the Western Conference with an 11-17 record.
