Multiple Catalan sources now state Barcelona ‘very close to finalising’ Norwich City transfer

Barcelona are ‘very close to finalising’ a move for Norwich City youngster Ajay Tavares after his performances in the national youth teams.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo and Sport. The latter backs up the former today on the Norwich City winger.

They state that Barcelona’s sporting management are continuing to target players for the youth academy and the 15-year-old is on their list.

They are ‘closely monitoring’ the Norwich youngster, with Sport going as far as to say that they are ‘very close to finalising’ a move for him.

According to the newspaper’s information, Tavares holds a European passport, and this will allow him to transfer when he turns 16 on December 28th. Usually, he would have to wait until he turns 18.

Thus, Barcelona are moving for him after watching him impress for the national youth teams. Tavares has previously played for the U15s and U16s and recently made his debut for the U17s.

Premier League clubs and some beyond had also been keen but Barcelona have moved first and now appear to be on course to take him away from Norwich in the coming weeks.
