Liverpool make bid to sign Sheffield Wednesday talent

The talent is attracting significant interest in his services.

Liverpool are exploring options ahead of the January transfer window, and have already started making moves.

A particular area of concern for the Reds at the moment is their lack of depth in their defensive line.

With Giovanni Leoni out for the season and Joe Gomez now also sidelined with injury, Liverpool’s only two recognised senior center-backs are Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.

If either of the pair get injured, Arne Slot will find himself in a real spot of bother.

With that being said, Liverpool are exploring potential reinforcements.

However, this one may be for the future.

It has been reported by the Sheffield Star that Sheffield Wednesday are set to face a battle to keep hold of talented defender Yisa Alao with Liverpool rumoured to be one of the Premier League clubs interested.

The 17-year-old’s performances at youth level and now in the senior team have led to Liverpool and Manchester United both making offers “around the mid-level six-figure mark” in an attempt to sign the defender.

Sheffield Wednesday are said to be struggling financially, and whilst they are desperate to keep ahold of Alao, unless they can find the means to do so, they may have no choice but to let him go.
