Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is intent on signing Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo as the successor to Mohamed Salah, according to The Guardian.
The Dutch tactician reportedly views the 25-year-old forward as a direct replacement for last season’s top scorer, whose future at Liverpool has been a huge talking point in recent weeks.
Semenyo is a target for several Premier League clubs ahead of the January transfer window, with Manchester United and Manchester City both holding direct talks for the Ghanaian winger this week.
The 25-year-old, who is under contract until June 2030, is available via a £65m release clause next month.

According to The Guardian, Semenyo is believed to have identified Liverpool as his preferred destination in January, despite receiving interest from several other Premier League clubs.
Tottenham are also interested in the former Bristol City attacker but have a ‘slim chance’ of making the signing amid their difficult start to the season under Thomas Frank.
Semenyo has been one of the Premier League’s best players this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 15 appearances.
The 'world-class' Ghanaian forward ranks joint third in goals scored, only behind Erling Haaland and Igor Thiago, and joint 10th in assists.
Semenyo found the back of the net in Bournemouth’s 4-4 draw with Man United on Monday, which extended the Cherries’ winless streak in the Premier League to seven.
Andoni Iraola’s side next host Burnley on Saturday, while Liverpool visit Tottenham, looking to secure back-to-back wins following a 2-0 victory over Brighton last weekend.

Semenyo’s arrival at Anfield would represent another high-profile attacking signing for Liverpool in recent months, along with the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.
It could also mean the Reds may need to sell one of their attackers as a result, with Federico Chiesa potentially among those most likely to make way.
The Italy international has played only 390 minutes of football this season and has made no starts in the Premier League, with all 11 of his appearances coming off the bench.

Liverpool are still awaiting Ibrahima Konate’s decision on his future at Anfield, with the Frenchman’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
Konate is believed to have an offer from the Reds to extend his deal and will also be available to strike a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs from January.
