Chalobah challengs Gordon
Newcastle were denied a stonewall penalty against Chelsea after Anthony Gordon was taken out at St James' Park. Ally McCoist and Joe Cole were aghast that a spotkick was not awarded after the challenge on the Magpies star.
Trevoh Chalobah left Anthony Gordon in a heap near the advertising boards after an aggressive shoulder barge inside the Blues area. Nothing was given by referee Andy Madley, with Newcastle's players in uproar as Gordon remained on the turf.
McCoist said on commentary: "I think it's a penalty, I really do. I think he's trying to usher him out but he takes him out.
"It's a penalty, as simple as that. It's a stonewall penalty. I'm staggered at that."
"Too much aggression," add Joe Cole on TNT Sport. "I think we’ll be hearing from Eddie Howe after the game."

Even ex- ace Pat Nevin was in disbelief. "Risky with bells on it!" he said," on 5 Live.
"Trevoh Chalobah never got the ball, a shoulder challenge on Anthony Gordon. A big call for the referee to not give a penalty"
The Match Centre suggested that VAR's decision identified the challenge was 'side to side' in a 'shielding' action. That was despite Gordon being in possession of the ball.
On social media they said: "The referee’s call of no penalty to was checked and confirmed by VAR – with the contact from Chalobah on Gordon deemed to be side-to-side in a shielding action and the ball within playing distance."
McCoist was not convinced. "I don't know any where that is side-to-side," he vented.
"It's not side-to-side. It's not side-to-side. He takes him out with his body. He's not, he's shielding the ball if he doesn't touch the player."
The decision saw Newcastle robbed of an opportunity to extend their lead at St James' Park. They had already seen ' free kick half the deficit following Nick Woltemade's first-half brace.
Chelsea were able to build some steam in the second period and converted their pressure into an equalising effort through Joao Pedro, a player Newcastle previously attempted to sign.
