247Sports College Basketball Show: Recruiting intel; NBA Draft risers; Big East, SEC previews

The latest episode of the 247Sports College Basketball Show aired live Friday on the CBS Sports Network. This week's show came directly from Fort Myers, Florida and the City of Palms Classic, one of the premier high school events of the entire season.

The show began with the latest intel on the recruiting trail, beginning with No. 9 Christian Collins re-opening his recruitment after having previously been on the brink of a commitment to Kentucky. Similarly, No. 6 Dylan Mingo was also believed to be on the verge of an announcement, but now that timeline has evolved as well. Updates were also provided on No. 2 Jordan Smith, No. 5 Caleb Holt, and No. 8 Bruce Branch.

The show also explored a trio of prospects set to rise when the CBS Sports NBA Draft Big Board updates next week. Washington's Hannes Steinbach has helped himself since returning from his ankle injury while Baylor's Cameron Carr has exceeded what initially looked like aggressive expectations from just a month ago. Wake Forest's Juke Harris has also played his way onto the radar.

Finally, the show continued to reassess college basketball's top leagues as we head into conference play. This week dove into the Big East, where UConn is the clear favorite and St. John's perhaps the only other NCAA Tournament lock, while Villanova, Seton Hall, Georgetown, Butler, Creighton, and Providence are among those fighting for a spot in March. The SEC isn't quite as good as last year but they're loaded with depth and parity which should make it an exciting season. Florida, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Auburn are discussed among the contenders, while Kentucky was explored in detail earlier this week on CBS Sports.
