Manchester City 3-0 West Ham
Areola:6 Made a save after 5 mins but Haaland scored the rebound. Awful kicking as usual. Save on 35 mins stopped it becoming 2-0. Saved from Foden on 81 mins. Followed up with another smart save moments later.
Scarles:5 Outmanoeuvred and like KWP was totally out of his depth in terms of fitness and chemistry with teammates he does not usually play alongside. Felt massively sorry for him trying to deal with Reijnders & Cherki. Fair play to Scarles though, he demonstrated an excellent attitude in the second half and to a degree recovered with some decent reading of the game. Injured just as he was starting to feel his way into the game.
Kilman:3 Calmed nerves (and possibly ours) with an early block but outjumped and out-thought by Haaland. No idea why he didn’t attempt a tackle for Reijnders goal. Gave away a needless freekick. Nutmegged for Haaland’s second, should never have started the game.
Todibo:6 The better of West Ham’s defenders in the early part of the game.

Walker Peters:5 Looked rusty which is unsurprising given he has not had any time on the pitch recently. Had zero chemistry with Kilman who played as right central defender. Definitely seemed to find more rhythm as the game progressed. Unlucky or clumsy for City’s third.
Manchester City 3-0 West Ham: Walker Peters started at right back and improved as the game went on.
Magassa:5 Seems to enjoy a duel. Probably his quietest game since becoming a regular starter.
Potts:6 Maybe the Hammers least worst player on a day of terrible football and even worse tactics. Registered a shot on target.
Fernandes:4 Switched off for City’s opener and got caught dribbling out of defence for second. For all his errors, his attitude is not in question.
Paqueta:4 Given a free role, plenty of tricks and flicks on display as Paqueta tried to show Pep Guardiola what he’s missing out on. Seemed to lose interest, I’ve had enough and so has Paqueta by the looks of it.
Summerville:5 Nippy and tricky on occasion but lacking the outright pace and athleticism to hurt City. Tough for him to play in this team against such good opposition. You have to feel sorry for Summerville with so many long balls launched up to him. Good dribble at the start of the second half but failed with the final ball. Shot straight at the keeper when through on goal but maybe not the easiest chance.
Bowen:5 Given a bit of a lesson by Gvardiol who has matched him for pace. Had a shot from a very tight angle. Ironically given a yellow card for back chatting the referee. Poor Bowen can’t seem to win. Pulled a right footed shot wide in the second half which West Ham started brightly.
