Pistons starter ‘good to go’ vs. Hornets after exiting last game with injury

DETROIT — The Detroit Pistons won’t need to worry about starting guard Duncan Robinson missing any time after exiting their last game against the Dallas Mavericks early.

Despite [suffering a left knee injury in the second half](https://www.mlive.com/pistons/2025/12/latest-on-pistons-starter-after-picking-up-knee-injury-against-mavericks.html) that held Robinson out of the remainder of the game, coach J.B. Bickerstaff said the 31-year-old “should be good to go” for the Pistons’ game Saturday night against the Charlotte Hornets at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

“He should be good,” Bickerstaff said. “Just banged knees, got sore. Should be good to go.”

With just over 11 minutes remaining in the third quarter of Thursday night’s game, Robinson had a knee-to-knee collision with Dallas’ Naji Marshall, which saw the veteran sharpshooter limp off the court to the Detroit bench.

After being assessed by medical staff, he got up under his own power and went into the locker room. Robinson was initially ruled as “questionable” to return, but was quickly downgraded to “out.”

It was a positive when he was only listed as “probable” due to a left knee contusion on Friday going into the matchup with the Hornets. He took part in his normal pregame routine at LCA ahead of Bickerstaff confirming his status.

This season, Robinson has been a stalwart of the Detroit (21-6) lineup. After being acquired by the Pistons in a trade this offseason, the seven-year Miami Heat guard started the first 20 games of the season — the only Piston to do so.

He finally missed a pair of games earlier this month [due to a right ankle sprain](https://www.mlive.com/pistons/2025/12/pistons-starter-set-to-miss-first-game-of-the-season-vs-hawks.html).

Robinson is still putting up some of his best career numbers, averaging nearly 12 points, three rebounds and two assists per game, while shooting 39.2% from three-point range.

It’s expected Robinson will remain in his starting spot for a team-high 26th time Saturday night ahead of the Pistons’ five-game road swing.
