Head coach Ty Lue told reporters that he and the Clippers are aiming for a 35-20 win-loss run for the remainder of the season.
In the wake of their worsening progress this 2025-26 campaign, Tyronn Lue has placed a new goal to fulfill for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Addressing the media before their Saturday showdown against the LA Lakers, the Clippers head coach revealed that he and his group are aiming for a 35-20 win-loss run for the remainder of the regular season.
"Unfortunately, we haven't won the games, we don't have the record we think we should have right now, but that's behind us," Lue said, "And so just talking to our guys today, our main focus, our main goal is try to be 35 and 20 the rest of the way, and just keep stacking wins from there."
A 35-20 record would give the Clippers a 41-41 standing by the end of the season.
Right now, the Clippers are 6-21. The result of tonight's game against the Lakers will either allow them to finally kickstart on reaching their bold goal or be the Western Conference's worst team.
As such, it's still difficult to see if the Clippers can clinch a desired postseason spot with just a .50% win rate by the end of the season. Knowing the competition in the West, a 41-win outing won't be enough to pull themselves for an NBA Playoff appearance, let alone a Play-In Tournament berth.
Regardless, we can only wait and see if both Lue and the Clippers can save themselves in this roller-coaster year of the entire franchise.
