Lakers News: JJ Redick drops huge update on injured Reaves, Ayton, Hachimura

Ahead of their weekend matchup against the LA Clippers, JJ Redick tackled the Lakers' concerning injury issues among the three.

Like any other team in the league, the Los Angeles Lakers have been dealing with significant injury blows this season.

Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule

The Lakers have missed the presence of Austin Reaves (calf), Deandre Ayton (elbow) and Rui Hachimura (groin) this Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers. And in his pregame appearance, J.J. Redick dropped major updates around the three.

“I can’t commit to timelines here. A guy wakes up and says, ‘Something’s wrong with me.’ Then we got to deal with it,” Redick said. “DA and Austin are progressing, we hope to have them back soon.

"Rui, this is a new issue that popped up post-Utah game, and we’re targeting, or saying it’s three to five days.”

Reaves has been out for a week already for the Lakers since he was diagnosed with a calf strain. Meanwhile, Ayton also continues his own recovery in the wake of his second consecutive absence for LA.

As for Hachimura, his injury issue is indeed something new, and the Lakers can only hope he'll be able to recover within the given timeframe.

For now, the Lakers will continue to rely on Luka Doncic, LeBron James and the rest of the group to step up out of the trio's extended absence.
