The Los Angeles Lakers’ injury list continues to grow, with the latest setback involving the player they least wanted to see go down.
Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule
The team announced Saturday that Luka Doncic will not return for their Saturday showcase against the LA Clippers. The superstar guard sustained a left leg contusion and didn't play in the second half.
Doncic struggled throughout the first half, scoring 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting (1-of-6 on 3-pointers) with four turnovers.
As such, his rough performance could suggest his sudden injury exit, as the Lakers trailed 54-39 at halftime.
The Lakers have entered their weekend duel against the Clippers with three core players out with Austin Reaves (left calf), Deandre Ayton (left elbow) and Rui Hachimura (right groin).
This season, the Slovenian sensation is leading the NBA in scoring with 35.2 points along with 9.1 assists, 8.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals, powering the Lakers' 19-7 record that is 4th in the Western Conference.
