A round-up of the latest Premier League transfer rumours involving Leeds United, Liverpool and Manchester United
Leeds United star Jayden Bogle has been ‘shortlisted’ by Premier League rivals Everton ahead of the January transfer window as they search the market for a new right-back to become a reliable long-term fixture within the team.
According to Football Insider, the Toffees are ‘keeping tabs’ on Bogle ahead of the new year. The 25-year-old has made it onto their shortlist after ‘impressing’ club scouts since Leeds’ return to the Premier League.
Bogle has been a standout player and now, clubs are looking to snap him up at the earliest convenience, especially those in needs of defensive reinforcements.
The 3AM Verdict: Everton would certainly benefit from signing a solid full-back like Bogle but it will take a lot to convince Leeds to cash in half-way through a crucial season. Daniel Farke’s side are fighting to keep their place in England’s top flight and would be foolish to let crucial players leave during the winter window. Micah Richards has already outlined the importance of Bogle at Elland Road, describing him as a‘sensational’ signing for Leeds since his arrival in 2024.
Liverpool ‘favoured’ by 13-goal attacker over Man United
Liverpool are the ‘favoured’ destination of highly sought-after transfer target Antoine Semenyo. According to The Guardian, the Reds are ahead of the pack in the race to sign the Bournemouth star.
Despite interest from multiple clubs, Liverpool are the preference for the Ghana international, with Manchester City the second choice. This puts Manchester United significantly low down the ranking, despite their plan to go full steam ahead in attempt to sign Semenyo next month. All three clubs are heavily interested in signing the Cherries winger and they will have their fair shot at it in the new year, when his £65 million activates.
The 3AM Verdict: Given Liverpool’s shaky performances this season, it will be a huge boost that they are Semenyo’s preferred destination. The Reds have shortlisted the Ghanaian as a candidateto replace Mohamed Salah long-term, but with the Egyptian struggling to hit his usual form this season, a new signing halfway through the season could be the boost Liverpool need to turn their season around. Semenyo contributed 13 goals last season, which will likely be boosted with Liverpool’s influential attackers around him.
Kobbie Mainoo hits ‘breaking point’ with Man United
While United are looking to add new signings to their ranks in January, there are also plenty of rumours suggesting they could offload some of their own.
According to Mail Sport, Mainoo’s relationship with United is now ‘at breaking point’ and he sees ‘no future for himself’ at Old Trafford under the management of Ruben Amorim. Should a January loan move with the option for a permanent move present itself in January, Mainoo will reportedly consider taking it.
The 3AM Verdict: Mainoo has been the subject of plenty of interest recently and won’t be without options to consider in the new year. His best chance to get himself on Thomas Tuchel’s radar will be to guarantee regular minutes, which is not something he has at Man United. If an offer arrives in January, it’s in both party’s best interest that it is agreed at this point.
