With Leeds United beating Crystal Palace, the Hammers find themselves in 18th place in the Premier League, five points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th, who have a game in hand.

Ian Wright lambasts comedic incident involving Jean-Clair Todibo and Kyle Walker-Peters
Wright, in his post-match analysis of the 3-0 defeat against City, was far from pleased with what he saw from Todibo and Walker-Peters.
The duo started the game and had an afternoon to forget at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The former Arsenal striker’s main issue was the fact that they appear to get in the way of each other as City scored their third goal.

Both of them wanted to prevent Haaland from scoring his second of the game, but appeared to tackle each other and take themselves out of his line of sight.
After that, all the Norwegian needed to do was to slot the ball into the back of the net to secure the three points for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Speaking on Premier League Productions’ Saturday Wrap, Wright said: “West Ham were really poor today. Making mistakes like this, it’s comedy.”

Nuno may have few games to save his West Ham job
The Manchester City game was always going to be a write-off as nobody expected the Hammers to get anything from it.
In hindsight, it would have made sense if Nuno rested some of his key players, but then there would be a worry about that messing up their goal difference.
West Ham now have a favourable run of games in the Premier League, with Fulham on Saturday, followed by Brighton on New Year’s Eve.
Then, they take on Wolves and Nottingham Forest, both sides around them in the table.
From these games, Nuno Espirito Santo will be expecting at least seven points, if not more, and failure to achieve that may result in him losing his job.
Currently, the gap between 18th and 17th is five points and if it’s closer to double digits by the time they have played Forest, it could result in the board bringing in someone who’s capable of turning things around.
