Emmanuel Adebayor Names His "Goat" Out Of Mo Salah, Didier Drogba And Sadio Mane

Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has ranked Liverpool legend Mo Salah as his “goat” when rating a list of African players.

In an inteview with k.plus sports TikTok channel, Adebayor was asked to label every player mentioned as either a ‘goat’, ‘legend’, ‘great’, or simply a ‘joy to watch’.

Adebayor initially went with ex-Chelsea forward Didier Drogba as his greatest of all time, but when Salah’s name was mentioned, he changed his mind:

“For me, Mo Salah would have to be the goat.”

Salah was not the only Liverpool great mentioned

Sadio Mane’s name was also among the list of African players, and Adebayor decided to label him as a “legend”, which speaks volumes of the Senegalese international’s own achievements at Anfield.

During his eight years with the Reds, Mane found the back of the net 120 times and provided 46 assists in 269 appearances. At international level, he continues to be the talisman for his country, having scored 50 times in 117 caps.

What is the latest on Salah’s future?

Speaking in an interview earlier this week, the Egyptian’s teammate Curtis Jones revealed that he had “apologised” for his outspoken comments following the 3-3 draw against Leeds earlier this month.

After that explosive interview, Salah was left out of the matchday squad for the 1-0 win over Inter Milan before returning for the 2-0 victory over Brighton last weekend.

Head coach Arne Slot had a meeting with Salah the day before the game to broker a truce, but it isn’t believed that the situation has been fully resolved.

The Reds legend is now with Egypt’s squad at the African Cup of Nations, and he won’t return to Merseyside until some point next month. There is still a chance that the 33-year-old could be sold during the January transfer window, with a switch to Saudi Arabia a genuine possibility.
