Former Barcelona striker Vitor Roque has reportedly caught the attention of Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window. The 20‑year‑old, who joined Brazilian side Palmeiras in February, is already being linked with a move away thanks to his impressive performances.

Earlier this month, the Manchester Evening News reported Roque's entourage are expecting bids worth €50million (£44m) in the new year. Now, Sky Sports Switzerland claim that United and Chelsea are seen as the most interested sides, with the latter said to be 'working to recruit' the youngster.

Although he is believed to have attracted interest from United, Chelsea are described as being 'much more concrete' in their efforts.

Roque is viewed as a long‑term reinforcement for the Blues, fitting their history of investing in young talent.

With that said, Palmeiras are expected to stand firm against any approach.

According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, several clubs have approached Palmeiras to enquire about his availability, even 'offering more' than the £22m fee the club paid for him.

The board has made it clear that they are not open to doing business at this time.

The same outlet reports that Roque has already turned down a €35m (£31m) move to Saudi Arabia, believing the destination is not in his best interests.

As for the player himself, and with the World Cup only months away, Roque made it clear at the end of the Brazilian season that he intends to stay at Palmeiras.

"I’m very happy at Palmeiras," he said earlier this month.

"I think today I’m focused here and, of course, there will always be interest, there always will be, but right now my desire is to stay.

"I've already had an offer from Saudi football, yes, but we felt it wasn't the right time, and the same goes for teams in Europe from the first to the second division.

"But I feel that now is not the right time. I’m happy at Palmeiras, focused on Palmeiras, and that’s what matters most as we head into 2026."

The striker scored 16 goals in Brazil's Serie A, starting 24 times out a possible 33.
