The Los Angeles Lakers did not have an enjoyable Saturday night.
They lost by 15 to the Los Angeles Clippers, and they lost superstar Luka Doncic to injury.
Doncic sustained a leg contusion during the first half and did not return. He finished with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and four turnovers, and the Lakers were already down 15 points at the intermission.
Luka Doncic injury update
Lakers head coach JJ Redick provided this update after the game, via ESPN:
"I saw him hobbling towards the end of the first half. He came to me at halftime and said he couldn't go," Lakers coach JJ Redick said, then added, "I don't have any other information."
Doncic missed three games earlier in the season with a lower left leg contusion, but ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported that "Saturday's circumstances appear to be unrelated."
With Doncic out to start the second half, Dalton Knecht began the third quarter on the floor.
LeBron James scored a season-high 36 points in the defeat.

What's a leg contusion?
A leg contusion is essentially a deep bruise.
