Alexander Isak’s nightmare start to life at Liverpool looks to have continued.
There were not too many positives to take for the Reds win over Tottenham, but the main one, of course, was that they secured all three points.
Isak getting on the scoresheet was another huge bonus, with the Swede taking his goal with real composure, just like Hugo Ekitike did for his too.

However, he has joined a very short list of Liverpool players to do something that no one wants to have to do, with this just the second time it has happened in the history of the club.

Isak started this one on the bench, but it was understandably so given how good Ekitike has been as of late.
However, Liverpool’s lack of attacking threat in the first half meant he was brought on at the break to make a difference, and he did just that.
But in the midst of scoring his second league goal of the season, he picked up an injury, with it being enough to force him off the pitch after less than 15 minutes.

This means he is just the second Liverpool player in history to be subbed on, score and then be taken off in the same game, as per OptaJoe.

The only other to have this happen to them was Yossi Benayoun in 2009 against Manchester City, showing just how rare it is.
Of course, it is an unwanted list to be added to and Reds fans will be hoping it is not too serious, but based on how he left the field, many will be holding their breath.

Isak cannot catch a break right now and it is a massive shame given the impact he had during his short time on the pitch.
In previous weeks, he has not looked very sharp or been able to get into the game, but he looked a lot better in the 15 minutes he got in North London.
His run in behind was smart and he took his goal very well, with this type of strike being bread and butter for the Swede.
Now, fans will wait to see how long he is out for, but when he is back, playing him alongside Ekitike seems to be the way to get the very best out of him.
