As it is, the T-Wolves recently announced that the organization will reconnect with their former superstar, in which Garnett will embrace an all-encompassing role as team ambassador.

And finally, the much-awaited No. 21 jersey retirement of Garnett will finally happen at some point over the next two seasons.

It's considerably long overdue, given the fact that Garnett remains the best player in Timberwolves history. But knowing the retired big man's history with the franchise, he is notably estranged simply because of Glen Taylor.

But regardless of everything that happened between them, the former T-Wolves owner is nothing but ecstatic that Garnett's jersey will finally be immortalized in Minnesota.

“I always thought he should be there,” Taylor told Chris Hine of The Minnesota Star Tribune. “That he wanted to wait until now is fine. It’s his decision. Overall, I like the guy, respect the guy, and I’m happy for him.”

Both Garnett and Taylor have shared an intense animosity toward each other. And their fallout reached the boiling point when the ex-superstar felt betrayed as he claimed Taylor didn't fulfill their pact that he would join the Timberwolves front office and ownership following his retirement.

Since then, upon Coach Flip Saunders' death in 2016, Garnett refused to associate himself with the franchise and have his No. 21 raised in the rafters.

But as the Timberwolves are now under the new ownership of Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez, Garnett is finally about to welcome new beginnings with the Timberwolves.

And with Taylor out, his legacy will finally be cemented as his legendary run in Minnesota is set to be honored at long last.
