Can Steve Kerr, Warriors attain their major regular season goal?

Steve Kerr is optimistic that the Golden State Warriors will be able to finish the regular season with a top-four standing.

Winning it all and clinching the NBA championship stands as their main priority, but Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors have set a target goal for themselves in this 2025-26 regular season.

The Dubs coach is confident that his group can be able to reach a top-four finish once the season concludes, fully acknowledging the ebbs and flows around the league.

“We all know where we are.” Kerr said Sunday, via The Athletic's Nick Friedell. “Look, our goal coming into the season was to be a top-four seed, and I still think it’s well within our reach. But it can be daunting if you look and you go, ‘Man, we’re five, six games back.’

"But we know how fast things can flip if we can take care of our business and find some momentum because everybody else is gonna go through tough stretches too.”

Heading to their Monday matchup against the visiting Orlando Magic, the Warriors (14-15) are currently in the 8th spot of the Western Conference. By looking at the standings, they are just 5 games away from a top-six positioning.

The Dubs have experienced plenty of ups and downs this year, but they are set to welcome two home matches and a three-game road trip on the East Coast.

Golden State can definitely be amped up to play now as the trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green are finally healthy. The likes of Al Horford (sciatica), Seth Curry (thigh) and Jonathan Kuminga (illness) are progressing well on their looming return to the group.

For as long as everyone is available and performing, the Warriors will always have a shot to finish the season strongly, and perhaps clinch the franchise's eighth title later in June.
