Mavs rookie Cooper Flagg turned 19 on Sunday but is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans with a back contusion.

Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg turned 19 years old on Sunday (Dec. 21), but his birthday came with some unfortunate news.

According to the NBA injury report, Flagg is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a back contusion.

So far this season, Flagg has missed just one game, appearing in 28 contests for Dallas.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is averaging 18.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the field.

Despite the injury concern, Flagg continued his strong play Saturday, scoring 20 or more points for the fourth straight game in a 121–114 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

With that performance, he joined LeBron James as the only 18-year-olds in NBA history to record four consecutive 20-point games. James accomplished the feat from Dec. 19 to Dec. 25 in 2003.
