Liverpool have entered the race to sign promising young striker Franculino Dju.
The 21-year-old has been in very impressive form for Danish side FC Midtjylland this season, having found the back of the net 21 times in 30 appearances.
Speaking about which team Franculino could sign for in the New Year, Bild reporter Christian Falk said that the Reds could pose stiff competition for two German clubs:

“Premier League champions Liverpool are also very interested in him. So perhaps we might get an exciting poker game between Arne Slot’s side and Bayern Munich. Also, Borussia Dortmund is said to be interested in this player. So this will be an intriguing transfer topic for us next year.”
Arsenal are also in the mix for Franculino
Last month, a report in Denmark revealed that the Gunners are long-term admirers of the Guinea-Bissau international.
It is believed that they have sent scouts to watch Franculino in action on a regular basis for Midtjylland over the past couple of years.
The youngster arrived from Benfica on a free transfer in the summer of 2023. He had been a prolific scorer in the Portuguese club’s academy, but he only made his senior debut following his move to the Danish Superliga.
Liverpool are looking to sign a forward
Franculino is a striker, so any approach for him in January would probably depend on Alexander Isak’s injury status. The Swedish international was carried off with an injury after scoring in the 2-1 win over Tottenham on Saturday night.
Some suspect that Isak could be out for a while, so a move for Franculino may be considered if more competition for Hugo Ekitike is required.
However, the main focus for the club’s January transfer business is likely to be on recruiting Antoine Semenyo. The winger has a £65m release clause, which is active for the first 10 days next month.
