**Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been linked with a move away from Barcelona during the January transfer window.**

Ter Stegen could be a useful signing

The German goalkeeper has proven himself with Barcelona, and he could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Tottenham in the short term. Guglielmo Vicario can be quite inconsistent, and Tottenham need more competition in that area of the pitch. The Barcelona star could be ideal for them. He has the quality to compete with the Italian for the starting spot. His winning experience could also prove to be invaluable. He has won several major trophies throughout his career. He could prove to be a mentor for the Tottenham dressing room.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are unhappy with the performance of Robert Sanchez, and they are looking for an alternative. The German could prove to be useful for them as well.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up. Ter Stegen will be desperate for regular gametime, especially with the World Cup coming up next year. He will want to cement his place in the German national team, and he needs to play regularly at the club level.
