Many of our Men’s, Women’s and Academy players have been sent out on loan this season to gain experience and further action.
**Oleksandr Zinchenko** marked his return to action with victory for Nottingham Forest, as they secured an important 2-1 away success at Utrecht in the Europa League on December 11. The full-back was then an unused substitute in their Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur, and faces Fulham on Monday night.
Hamburg were denied a late winner against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Saturday, as **Fabio Vieira**’s strike was chalked off by VAR. The midfield man had been introduced in the 70th minute of the 1-1 draw, 10 minutes later seeing his prospective winning goal thwarted. Our former star Albert Sambi Lokonga had earlier given Hamburg a first-half lead.
Porto just keep on winning with **Jakub Kiwior** in the side, and our on-loan defender played the full match on Monday as his side overcame Estrela 3-1 in the Liga Portugal, leading the top flight having dropped only two points all season. Jakub then played an eight-minute cameo to help see out a last-16 victory in the cup against Famalicao on Thursday, eventually running out 4-1 winners.
**Karl Hein** remained among the substitutes as understudy to Werder Bremen’s Mio Backhaus as their side played out a Bundesliga stalemate with Augsburg on Saturday; **Reiss Nelson** continues to recover from injury for Brentford, having last featured against Burnley on November 29.
One player who has particularly stood out on loan this year is **Ismeal Kabia** at Shrewsbury Town, especially after his televised FA Cup heroics earlier this month. The young forward put in another impressive display on Saturday against Chesterfield, but the Shrews went down by a 1-0 scoreline in the League Two clash.
**Maldini Kacurri** played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet in Morecambe's 2-0 win away to Brackley Town on Sunday. A George Thomas brace saw Morecambe rise to 21st in the National League, level on points with Brackley.
Just above them in 19th are Braintree Town, who **Harrison Dudziak** made his senior debut for shortly after arriving on loan, playing all of their 0-0 draw at home to Hartlepool.
**Madison Earl** came on in the 85th minute of Ipswich Town's 2-1 defeat away to Sunderland on Sunday, which saw them remain bottom of WSL 2 with five points.
**Jessie Gale** was also involved in a 2-1 defeat, playing 90 minutes of Portsmouth's loss at home to Newcastle United to go 11th in the division.
The same goes for Nottingham Forest, who lost 2-1 at Charlton Athletic, with **Vivienne Lia** an unused substitute.
**Naomi Williams** was an unused substitute as Bristol City Women played their final fixture of 2025 on Wednesday in the WSL 2, edged out 3-2 by a late Crystal Palace winner.
