Wow: Liverpool have now agreed personal terms with"world-class"ace over January move - report

Liverpool are believed to have agreed personal terms with Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo over a move to Anfield in the January transfer window.

The Ghanaian has been one of the Reds’ leading transfer targets for months now, having stayed put at Bournemouth back in the summer, amid plenty of interest in him.

Semenyo has continued to outline his reputation as one of the best wide players in the Premier League this season, scoring eight goals in 16 league outings, as well as chipping in with three assists.

Now, the Guardian report that Liverpool have “agreed personal terms over a January move” for the 25-year-old, as they look to beat the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United to his signature.

Semenyo an ideal January addition for Liverpool

Liverpool supporters are sure to be buoyed by this update, especially with Alexander Isak now ruled out of action for a number of months with a broken leg, following his cruel setback away to Tottenham over the weekend.

It is vital that the Premier League champions strengthen their attack, especially with doubts surrounding Mohamed Salah’s form and future, with Cody Gakpo also currently out through injury.

Semenyo looks like a perfect option for Liverpool, adding pace, power and end product in the final third, having been lauded by former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert recently:

“He is incredible, he shows it every game now. He is just world-class. We are glad to have him and that is why I said we have a good team. He is the one that scores goals for us and we appreciate that. He’s doing an amazing job.”

While a left-sided player by trade, Arne Slot may see Semenyo as a potent weapon on the right flank and in a central role, too, which would be ideal, given the situations surrounding Isak and Salah.

The Ghana international is primed to hit the ground running for Liverpool, having already shown that he can star in the Premier League with Bournemouth.

Whether a move develops remains to be seen, but if Semenyo doesn’t join the Reds next month, a different attacker needs to instead.
