Three Premier League clubs are already interested in signing Nicolas Jackson permanently

Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich hasn’t impressed enough to warrant signing him on a permanent basis, but Chelsea will have plenty of suitors — some in the Premier League.

Chelsea moved on from Jackson this summer after signing Joao Pedro and Liam Delap in the striker spot.

He went to the German champions for a season-long loan, but it’s now looking like Bayern won’t keep Jackson past the end of the campaign.

A Stamford Bridge return isn’t on the cards either, with Chelsea looking at other attacking additions.

But the Blues won’t have too much trouble finding a landing spot, according to the latest reports.

It feels longer, but Jackson was only at Chelsea for two seasons.

While criticism was commonplace with the Senegalese striker, he reached double figures in each of his Premier League campaigns and played an important role in buildup as well.

He was frustrating to watch at times, but he has proven he can perform in the English top flight. That hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Would you take Nicolas Jackson back at Chelsea?

Despite averaging a goal involvement every 90 minutes for Bayern, they’re not yet convinced by Jackson.

A report from CaughtOffside reveals plenty of teams are looking at Jackson.

Mark Brus writes: “‘Jackson is highly unlikely to stay at Bayern,’ one source told me. ‘His loan deal included a 65 million euro mandatory buy option, but it was tied to specific performance milestones which are now almost certainly not going to be met.’

“Another added: ‘In the Premier League, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Everton are closely monitoring Jackson’s situation. Atletico Madrid and Napoli could be two other options to watch out for, and Chelsea will certainly be looking for a buyer.'”

From what he has heard, those at Bayern have already reached their verdict. He has done alright in limited minutes scoring five goals, or one every 109 minutes. Bayern’s obligation to buy Jackson can’t be triggered now, as he can’t reach the appearances threshold agreed.

So he will have a new club next season. But who’s the best option?

Assessing Jackson’s options

Outside of England, Atletico Madrid and Napoli are interesting potential destinations.

We have seen plenty of Premier League talent succeed in Naples recently. Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay have revived their careers.

Atletico is less appealing, as there is very little chance of Jackson nailing down a starting spot with Julian Alvarez there.

Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins is pushing on, and the attackers Unai Emery has brought in lately aren’t that typical number nine profile. This season, they have shown their ability to compete at the very top end of the table, and it’s certainly an exciting project for Jackson to consider.

Newcastle is admittedly less appealing, given the arrivals of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa in the summer.

Everton could be interesting. Thierno Barry has come in over the summer, but neither he nor Beto have locked down the starting berth. There’s an opportunity for the Chelsea loanee to make the position his own with exciting creative forwards around him.
