There continues to be rumblings in the media that Liverpool could be active in the upcoming January transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed that the Anfield club has been making calls and that he would “I would keep the door open for Liverpool movements in the January transfer window”.

And now more reports are coming in that Arne Slot’s side could be busy this winter despite the £200m+ net spend in the summer.

Sky Sports have come out to claim that Liverpool could look to bring in a centre-back, a midfielder, and a winger in the winter:

“Liverpool could be busy again in this transfer window.”

“Sky Sports News understands plans to sign a centre-back, winger and central midfielder could be accelerated. For example, they remain keen on Marc Guehi after giving him a medical in the summer and are also one of the clubs in the background of the situation around Antoine Semenyo.”

“Bringing in a holding midfielder has also been on the agenda since Slot’s first summer in charge when Martin Zubimendi turned down a move to Anfield but the impressive performances of Ryan Gravenberch as the No 6 have so far put those plans on ice.”

It’s unlike Liverpool to do major renovation during the winter window. This January, though, has a different feel. With the squad looking thin, particularly at the back, a move in the winter market suddenly seems far more likely.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports have also come out this Monday to report that should Liverpool make a serious attempt to try and land Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, the 25-year-old will be open to make the move.

It remains to be seen whether a move for Semenyo accelerates after Alexander Isak’s suspected leg fracture.
