Milos Kerkez explains the one change that has seen his form at Liverpool pick up

Milos Kerkez appears to be getting better and better as each game passes at Liverpool.

The Reds had a big summer in the transfer market and made some very exciting signings, with one that perhaps went under the radar due to the money they spent being Kerkez.

The 22-year-old established himself as one of the best full-backs in the league during his time at Bournemouth, but he had struggled to replicate any sort of form since joining Liverpool.

However, he has gradually found his feet and appears to be getting back to his best, even if he is a little way off that still.

The Hungarian cited one main reason why he thinks he has improved in recent weeks, and all the credit needs to go to Arne Slot.

Milos Kerkez loves Liverpool’s new system

Kerkez was very reserved in an attacking sense when he first arrived, with this being a mystery to everyone as he is at his best when going forward.

However, he has started to be a bit more adventurous as of late, with Slot’s new system allowing him to go forward more and get crosses into the box, something the player himself says has helped him a lot.

The last few weeks have been better because we’ve had more time to gel in and get to know each other,” he said as per BBC Radio 5 Live.

“At the moment, there’s a good connection between me and Flo (Wirtz). We’re playing well and I hope it keeps going.

I like [the change in shape] because I have more freedom with Flo. We are moving, passing and playing a lot of one-twos. I felt like I was in the opposition box a lot more and crossing.

Also defending is my first job so it’s getting better and I’m happy about it. It was a tough period for everyone.

“We spoke with each other and had talks and after that, we started to fly more. We just have to trust and push each other and show mentality. Like I say, if you play for Liverpool you need to win games.”

Milos Kerkez needs to be more consistent with his deliveries

Kerkez is certainly doing all the right things at the moment, but the one downside to his game is his composure and consistency in the final third.

This was evident on multiple occasions against Tottenham as he was in the right areas, but his quality of cross let him down.

If he can refine this skill and make the most of these opportunities, just like Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold did in their prime, then he can have similar success.

At just 22, he certainly has time on his side and he really is a frightening prospect, so as time goes by, fans expect him to just keep on getting better and better.
