Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea Plot£30m January Move For Ben White Replacement

Arsenal defender Ben White suffered a fresh injury blow recently which should see him out for several weeks.

The Gunners are having some injury problems this season, much like last year, with Mikel Arteta really being tested, especially due to defensive injury concerns. The likes of Gabriel, Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White are all injured at the moment.

White suffered yet another injury to his hamstring, with Arteta saying “It’s not a major [hamstring] injury, but it will keep him out for a few games. Ben is a really fast healer as well, so let’s hope that we’re going to have him in the next few games.”

Heading into January, Jurrien Timber is the only fit right-back for Arsenal, so they could decide to look into the transfer market to add some more depth for the back half of the season.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United linked to White replacement

Arsenal aren’t the only Premier League team looking to add more quality in the right-back position, as Chelsea and Man United are both reportedly set to battle the Gunners for a 20-year-old Italian starlet.

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are plotting a move for Marco Palestra, who is currently on loan at Serie A side Cagliari. His parent club is Atalanta, who are hoping to develop him into a star, but the 20-year-old looks like he could make a move to the Premier League.

The report says that Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United are all keen on Palestra, who can also play as a right-midfielder. It is understood that if any of the Premier League clubs want to strike a deal to sign Palestra in January, they may have to fork out at least £30m, as Atalanta value him very highly.

So far this season, the 20-year-old full-back has made 15 Serie A appearances for Cagliari, providing three assists. He could join the Gunners in January and help to replace White, who has shown his frailties with injuries over the past few years at the Emirates.
