Crystal Palace has won only four of their last ten matches in all competitions, yet, they will arrive at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday full of confidence to play the Gunners in a Carabao Cup quarterfinal.
Arsenal beat the Eagles in the Premier League, 1-0, on October 26th. Eberechi Eze scored the winning goal in that game.
The winner of Tuesday’s match will advance to the semifinal round and play Chelsea in two-legs. Those matches to be played on January 14th and February 3rd.
Arsenal is coming off a hard-fought, grind-it-out win v Everton on Saturday. Mikel Arteta’s team showed their championship-level determination in that match, and will need to show equal strength and grit on Tuesday.
Winning trophies is a top priority for Arsenal this season, so Arteta will put a fresh and a very strong team on the pitch for this important game. This is where the Gunners very strong roster comes into play this season. Arteta should be able to rest a few key players in order to have them fresh for a big Premier League match on Saturday v Brighton and Hove Albion.
With that said, here’s my predicted starting XI v Crystal Palace…
[4-2-2]
Martinelli, Jesus, Madueke
Norgaard, Eze, Merino
Lewis-Skelly, Hincapie, Saliba, Timber
Kepa
Predicted final score: ARSENAL 2 – Crystal Palace 1
